Sun Protection with Style! This big brimmed beautiful hat is perfect for all your summer adventures and for travel too. Has a broad wide brim that is over 4 inches or 10 cm at the front when finished and over 3.5 inches or 8 cm at the back. Brim is built in a way that makes it easy to shape. Wear it bucket style or turned up at the front or back or turned up at the sides.

Trim with a bow or trim with scarf or add a tie and toggle at the back to tighten the fit.  Add a chinstrap for all your windy and water bound adventures.  The pattern is supported by step by step how to make it instructions and video(s) on YouTube.

Pattern sets are easy to download and use. Five sizes, presented in four pattern sets with the larger sizes presented as individual pattern sets so you have no confusion about crossing lines.  All the pieces are full size.  There is also a small pattern file for the bow and a fancier bow with a tail.

Pattern package is delivered in English but it is easy to translate the Instructions and Assembly Read this first page into any language using Google Translate. Choose translate document to create a new PDF file in your language choice. Contact us if you need us to do this for you.

Make sure you set your printer page to print "Actual" or "Custom Size" at 100%. This is important to have the right size. There is a 10 cm line and 5 inch measure line on the first page of each pattern set to check your output. Print that page first and check to see if the lines or line measures up.

Choose the printer paper option that matches your printer before adding to cart.  The pattern is avaiable for A4 and Letter paper printers.  Letter is North America and A4 is common in the rest of the world.

Five adult head sizes as follows ... XSmall (21.5" or 54-55 cm head circumference), Small (22" or 56 cm) Medium (22.5 inches or 57-58 cm head size),Large (23" or 58.5 cm) and XLarge (23.5 inches or 60-61 cm).

The instruction booklet included with the pattern sets follows the video with time stamps back to techniques for sewing the hat described in the video.  

Pattern pieces have been divided into 4 sets of PDFs. One set is for XSmall and Small sizes and are color coded with an outline that can adjust the cut for your seam width. The other sizes are in individual pattern files .... one for Medium (average size), one for Large and one for Extra Large. They also have color coding and shadow outline features. You can save these PDFs and use them over and over again. 

The hat uses a light weight or medium weight one side fusible interfacing on both brim pieces and a layer or heavy weight sew in interfacing for the brim to help give extra support.  The hat needs less than 2/3 of a yard or metre of quilting weight or heavier fabric in the 44/45" or 112 cm width fabric.  A small piece of narrow elastic that is 1/8" or 3 mm wide is added to the inside of the lining piece at the back of the hat.

You can also add a cord and a toggle to adjust the fit on one side or add a chinstrap.

The PDF is in full color but choose black and white from printer settings to save ink if required. Save it to your device and refer back to it that way as well.
