Pattern Choices for the YouTube Hat School Tutorial

Thank you for watching our Winter Earflap Cap Tutorial on YouTube!! This Cap can be Function, Fun or Fancy or all of those hat qualities!! We tried to tick as many boxes as possible with this one.  This is an original  design created by Tori Capes, Certified Milliner
for Mad Cap Hats, all rights reserved. You can use the hats you create from our patterns for your personal or business use.
1.  Make sure you have a PDF reader on your device as the files will automatically open in your default PDF program. If you do not have a PDF program you will need to install one.    "Adobe Reader"  is a FREE program and it can be downloaded here .
2.  Print the files on Letter or A4 ... set your printer to print ACTUAL or CUSTOM 100% size in your printer dialogue box like the photo below.  Do NOT have Fit or shrink or fit to page selected.  Only Actual Size or Custom Scale (size) 100% for page size.
3. Each pattern set is 6 pages - 5 for the pattern and there is a intro page in each with basic instructions for setting up your printer and how the pattern pages should look when pieced together. 

FREE PATTERN - Choose from two head sizes, Average Women's head size or Average Men's size. Hover over the size of the pattern you need below to see the active hyperlink and then click that sentence to be taken to the pattern files!  Seam allowance is 3/8" or 1 cm to black outline and can be extended to 1/2" or 1.25 cm if you cut the pieces out on the outside edge of the color shade around each piece.

Size MEDIUM or Women's Average Head Size (22.5" or 57.5 cm)

Size LARGE or Men's Average Head Size (23.5" or 60 cm)

There is a full pattern set available as well in 9 head sizes with full size pattern pieces for each.  If you wish to purchase the pattern you can find it here (Digital Sewing Patterns section of this site) when available.  Before adding to the cart, choose the paper size your printer uses from the option of either Letter or A4.

Customers love how warm and cosy it is and how comfortably it fits.If you have trouble sewing through layers of fabric with your machine, we recommend changing your presser foot to a walking foot, like the one listed below in our list of tools from Amazon.You do not need a serger to finish the inside seams however a serger can help clean up the edges of the seam joining the top and hat band.Questions can be left in the comment section of the video on YouTube for a prompt reply.  (You can click on the picture of the Video Thumbnail above to link directly to the video on YouTube) You can also email us at madcaphats@gmail.com
