Slouchy Fashion Cap, digital sewing pattern download, A4 printer size format

Our popular fleece cap is now a sewing pattern and a video on our YouTube Channel, Mad Cap Hats. Follow along with the video and the written instructions to create the perfect cool weather hat for yourself, friends, family or small business.

Has instructions and pattern pieces to create the cap in three sizes with three suggested finishes. Basic, pom pom and pony tail opening with toggle to adjust.

Three sizes in included in the download. Small for a 21.5 inch or 55 cm head, Medium which is average for a woman (22.5 inches or 57-58 cm) and Large, 23.5 inches or 60 cm.

Pattern also includes our pom pom template. There is a separate video on our YouTube channel that explains step by step how to make the pom pom that is perfect and using this hat in the video.

Customers have always loved our deep caps because they can be worn under a jacket hood and can be pulled down to cover ears in the winter. Visor is generous for keeping glasses dry and face protected as well as being very flattering.

Top is generous but not ridiculous! Just the right amount of extra room for hair and comfort. You can adjust the roominess by adding a very simple stitch at the back to have the cap top slope to the back of the head.

Cap is created with three pattern pieces for the body and one piece for the visor. You will need about 1/3 meter of fabric or 1/3 yard of fabric.  Fleece is perfect in a medium weight of about 7 oz. We used winter fleece for our video from Fabric.com.

You will need heavy weight or extra heavyweight sew in stabilizer interfacing for the visor. We use Pellon 926 extra firm stabilizer in the video which is widely available through various sellers on Amazon or in Canada, from Fabricland/Fabricville shops.

You will need elastic, we use 1/4 inch wide or 6 mm wide and give yourself a good length to pull through the cap top so about 24" or 60 cm or so.

Pattern can be printed in letter size paper or A4 format. Choose the option to match your printer paper.  Pattern pieces can be assembled with tape by joining the circles on each page. Print it as many times as you wish however we ask that you not share the digital file as the nominal fee for the pattern helps us to cover the costs of hiring people to help us put our 36 career in millinery design into this format to share.

This is a large pattern and instruction booklet that requires 21 pieces of paper to print everything out. Choose to print in color or save ink with grey tone. Check your printer settings by printing out one pattern page first and measuring the size of the printed box on each page for inches or cms. The actual pattern pieces requires 12 of those 21 pages. Instructions have written instructions as well as photos that are time stamped to the YouTube video.
